Description
Badacsony is one of the most distinctive landmarks of Lake Balaton.
A volcanic hill shaped by fire, time, and erosion, yet still standing with quiet authority above the water. Its broad silhouette, softened by distance and light, carries both geological memory and a deep sense of place.
In this watercolor, I wanted to capture more than the mountain’s form. I was drawn to its stillness, its horizon-defining presence, and the way it seems to anchor the landscape while remaining intimately connected to the lake beside it. Badacsony is not only a landmark, but a symbol of endurance, balance, and the enduring character of Balaton itself.
